Samzara
The initial sketches for Samzara started in 2018, experimenting with mixing elements and principles of various type classifications. The final design is based on classic slab serif forms, translating overall shapes and thick bracketed serifs into a somewhat experimental digital Antiqua language.
Unlike most other serif typefaces, Samzara's serifs have the same thickness as the bodies, creating new and sometimes awkward letter shapes. The upright Roman is supported by an Italic style; Slanted at an unusual strong angle of 21°. Playful forms are created by the vertical serifs not slanting.
Samzara is a display typeface and therefore best used big, for headlines and quotes in editorials, for posters and identities. Combine it with a bold Grotesque or an extended Sans for maximum Impact!
